Conjunctive queries with negation over DL-Lite: a closer look

    Get PDF
While conjunctive query (CQ) answering over DL-Lite has been studied extensively, there have been few attempts to analyse CQs with negated atoms. This paper deepens the study of the problem. Answering CQs with safe negation and CQs with a single inequality over DL-Lite with role inclusions is shown to be undecidable, even for a fixed TBox and query.Without role inclusions, answering CQs with one inequality is P-hard and with two inequalities CoNP-hard in data complexity

Rastrojo de maíz: producción teórica de etanol lignocelulósico en relación a la fecha de siembra

    Get PDF

High-pressure optical absorption in InN: Electron density dependence in the wurtzite phase and reevaluation of the indirect band gap of rocksalt InN

We report on high-pressure optical absorption measurements on InN epilayers with a range of free-electron concentrations (5×1017–1.6×1019 cm−3) to investigate the effect of free carriers on the pressure coefficient of the optical band gap of wurtzite InN. With increasing carrier concentration, we observe a decrease of the absolute value of the optical band gap pressure coefficient of wurtzite InN. An analysis of our data based on the k·p model allows us to obtain a pressure coefficient of 32 meV/GPa for the fundamental band gap of intrinsic wurtzite InN. Optical absorption measurements on a 5.7-μm-thick InN epilayer at pressures above the wurtzite-to-rocksalt transition have allowed us to obtain an accurate determination of the indirect band gap energy of rocksalt InN as a function of pressure. Around the phase transition (∼15 GPa), a band gap value of 0.7 eV and a pressure coefficient of ∼23 meV/GPa are obtained. ©2012 American Physical SocietyThis work was supported by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation through Project No. MAT2010-16116.Ibáñez, J.; Segura, A.; García-Domene, B.; Oliva, R.; Manjón Herrera, FJ.; Yamaguchi, T.; Nanishi, Y.... Multifield Dynamics in Higgs-otic Inflation

In Higgs-otic inflation a complex neutral scalar combination of the h0h^0 and H0H^0 MSSM Higgs fields plays the role of inflaton in a chaotic fashion. The potential is protected from large trans-Planckian corrections at large inflaton if the system is embedded in string theory so that the Higgs fields parametrize a D-brane position. The inflaton potential is then given by a DBI+CS D-brane action yielding an approximate linear behaviour at large field. The inflaton scalar potential is a 2-field model with specific non-canonical kinetic terms. Previous computations of the cosmological parameters (i.e. scalar and tensor perturbations) did not take into account the full 2-field character of the model, ignoring in particular the presence of isocurvature perturbations and their coupling to the adiabatic modes. It is well known that for generic 2-field potentials such effects may significantly alter the observational signatures of a given model. We perform a full analysis of adiabatic and isocurvature perturbations in the Higgs-otic 2-field model. We show that the predictivity of the model is increased compared to the adiabatic approximation. Isocurvature perturbations moderately feed back into adiabatic fluctuations. However, the isocurvature component is exponentially damped by the end of inflation. The tensor to scalar ratio varies in a region r=0.080.12r=0.08-0.12, consistent with combined Planck/BICEP results.Comment: 35 pages, 11 figure

Overlapping of acoustic bandgaps using fractal geometries

The transmission of acoustic waves in a fractal distribution of rigid scatterers embedded in air is reported in this work. The Sierpinsky fractal is used to produce a compact small device containing several periodicities, therefore the fractal distribution contains several finite sonic crystals. The attenuation band produced by the fractal distribution results from the sum of the Bragg peaks of each periodicity. On the other hand, bandgaps of sonic crystal depend on the well-known filling fraction, thus the radii of the scatterers in the fractal distribution has been optimized using genetic algorithm in order to overlap the bandgaps of each periodicity obtaining a wide and full attenuation band. This work was supported by MCI (Spanish Government) and FEDER funds, under Grant Nos. Phenomenological constraints on SUSY SU(5) GUTs with non-universal gaugino masses

    Get PDF
We study phenomenological aspects of supersymmetric SU(5) grand unified theories with non-universal gaugino masses. For large tan beta, we investigate constraints from the requirement of successful electroweak symmetry breaking, the positivity of stau mass squared and the b to s gamma decay rate. In the allowed region, the nature of the lightest supersymmetric particle is determined. Examples of mass spectra are given. We also calculate loop corrections to the bottom mass due to superpartners.Comment: 10 pages, 2 figures (8 eps files), uses REVTeX.
